Introducing Dr. Cheri Jung

Ottawa Chiropractor, Dr. Cheri Jung"I’ve been getting adjusted my entire life! My siblings and I were adjusted regularly. So, growing up we were rarely sick. If we did happen to get sick the first thing we got was an adjustment. Medications were not something we took for the flu or a cold, "remembers Dr. Cheri Jung. "The body is made to heal itself! The nervous system operates your entire body. So, it only makes sense that if your immune system is compromised you need to get your nervous system checked and your spine adjusted so your body can function at an optimal level and heal itself."

"I always knew I wanted to be a chiropractor," Dr. Cheri continues. "I loved working at my dad’s (Dr. Larry Matney) office while I was growing up. I was amazed with the results people got and the difference it made in their lives. However, when I went to Kansas State University I switched my major several times and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management. I worked in Dallas, Texas for a few years and decided it was time to fulfill my dream. I enrolled at Cleveland Chiropractic College and graduated in 1995."

"I studied hard at Cleveland taking all the required courses in anatomy, physiology, x-ray, and diagnosis. The adjusting technique classes were my favorite. I clearly remember the excitement I felt when I gave my first adjustment. Still to this day, giving that first adjustment to a new patient is always exciting and a great experience."

Dr. Cheri is married to Bob, who is a phone technician and part owner of Progressive Communications in Lenexa, Kansas. They have three healthy and regularly adjusted children, twin boys, Dayne and Tate, and one daughter, Sutton.

"As a family we enjoy hanging out at the Lake of the Ozarks and playing sports. I guess I should clarify that statement," Dr. Cheri smiles. "They enjoy playing sports and I enjoy watching sports. In my free time I love to read, walk, watch movies, and enjoy all kinds of water activities."

"I enjoy patients of all ages and working with all kinds of conditions. It is especially rewarding and fun to work with entire families as well as my wellness patients. I strive to treat each patient as a unique individual so that together we can work to meet their health and wellness goals."

"Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about how chiropractic can help improve your every day life. I look forward to meeting you and your family in the very near future. Again, give us a call so we can help you take your first step towards better health."

Dr. Cheri Asks some important questions of interest to Ottawa residents - Chiropractor Ottawa Dr. Cheri Asks...

How could chiropractic help a stomach problem?
Chiropractic works by locating and reducing areas of the spine compromising nerve communications between your brain and your body. If nerves to or from your stomach are irritated, your stomach won't work right. Chiropractors find the source of the interference, reduce it and allow your body to work as designed.
What's a side effect?
It may sound like a bonus; something extra, but chiropractors know it should more accurately called an "unintended effect," and "unwanted effect" or in some cases an "adverse effect." A pill can't come close to matching your body's ability to create and deliver the essential compounds it needs. That's when it's important to make sure your nervous system is working correctly—the purpose of chiropractic care!
